Thermopylae-Class Supercarrier

The be all end all flagship of the UNSC, these ships held everything a UNSC fleet might need and were used by many high ranking admirals as a command ship.

History

Thermopylae is a non-canon class. Officially it is only named 'Super Carrier' but this is silly as there are several assumed variants. Thermopylae is used to distinguish this ship.

Technically a subclass of Carrier a Supercarrier can hold a multitude of roles. The largest ship officially built by traditional means for the UNSC these ships were built with all the advancements the UNSC had to offer at the time. They were one of only a few ships that could be used for direct confrontation with Covenant ships, one role it was designed for. Other roles include fleet coordination and command, often times used as the flagship of high ranking admirals, transportation of StrikeCraft and UNSC ground forces, capable of assaulting planets directly and supporting fleets with its squadrons of Longswords. However due to its size and cost Supercarriers weren't as widely constructed and deployed as other classes of ships.
